After examining the situation linked to the spread of Coronavirus in Europe and worldwide, the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles has decided to postpone the competition for a second time.

Despite encouraging signs regarding the development of the crisis, the CMB management committee considers that ideal conditions for organising the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles next June cannot be guaranteed. To ensure its procedures remain rigorous, to safeguard the integrity of its results and out of respect for the producers who enter their wines in the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, the tasting sessions will be postponed until after the summer.

Consequently, and provided the situation continues to evolve positively, the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles will be held in Brno from 4 to 6 September 2020. The competition results will be published on September 10.

The Concours Mondial de Bruxelles would also like to express its support for producers around the world faced with the Coronavirus crisis. The competition’s organisers will do everything in their power to promote the awarded wines this year and to allow awarded producers to find new markets.

The Concours Mondial committee would also like to thank all the producers who place their trust in its organisation and for the many signs of support they have shown it. Due to the difficulties involved in shipping samples, the date for registering and shipping the wines has been extended until 30 April 2020. Producers are also invited to visit our website where they will find answers to all their questions.  (FAQ)

About the competition:

The Concours Mondial de Bruxelles is an international competition where over 9,000 wines are entered by producers and judged by a panel of experts. Our seasoned judges from across the globe taste wines with a single-minded objective, and that is to identify wines of irreproachable quality, without being influenced by the label or an appellation’s prestige. The competition is one of the most important international events of its kind.
