Rosé Heads South: The 2026 Rosé Wine Session Will Take Place in Cirò, Calabria

Dobrogea, Constanța (Romania), May 2025 – The 2025 Rosé Wine Session of the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles was held this year in Romania, in the wine-producing region of Dobrogea. At the close of the event, the CMB organization made an official announcement: the 2026 Rosé Wine Session will take place in Italy. More specifically, it will be hosted in the city of Cirò, a renowned hub of Calabrian winemaking.
The announcement was made during the closing speech by Mr. Mario Convertini, a representative of the Calabria region, who conveyed the official greetings of the President of the Region, Roberto Occhiuto, and the Regional Minister of Agriculture, Gianluca Gallo. Both expressed their support for this major international event returning to their homeland:
“The 2022 Rosé Wine Session in Calabria helped increase the visibility of our wines and wineries. By welcoming tasters from all over the world, we were able to showcase our millennia-old history, our winegrowing culture, and above all, the diversity of our land,” Mr. Convertini emphasized.
As the host city, Cirò represents the beating heart of Calabrian viticulture. It is particularly known for the indigenous Gaglioppo grape, which produces structured and elegant red wines, as well as fresh, well-balanced rosés that truly capture the soul of the region.
“Rosé wine in Calabria is rooted in tradition, not driven by fleeting trends, but crafted according to practices tied to our local cuisine—making it a perfect ambassador for our winemaking heritage,” he added.
The 2026 Rosé Wine Session of the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles will take place in March 2026 in Cirò, once again gathering tasters from around the world to evaluate the finest international rosé wines.
